Donovon Jack is the new « big man » of Liège Basket. Interview of a nice guy and a great player.
(L’interview en français est ici).
Donovon, why did you decide to sign with Liège Basket?
I choose to sigh with Liège Basket because it is a very good opportunity to play for a good club, coach, and team. After doing more research about the club, it seems like a great place to continue my career.
What are your goals for next season?
My goals for next season are pretty simple. I want to win to a lot of games and be a playoff team. I’d love to make a run at he championship.
Do you know a little about the belgian’s championship and
about Belgium?
I know a little about the Belgian championship and Belgium. I’ve heard and read about the championship being a great league so I’m excited to be in it. As far as Belgium, I’ve actually been there a few times. I was here when my college team took a foreign tour in Europe. We spent the majority of our
time in Belgium. I also took a weekend vacation to Bruges when I played in Germany. But I’m excited to be back and experience the culture again on a new level.
What kind of player are you? What are your strengths?
I am a lefty that plays the 4/5. My game throughout my career has consisted of playing the low post and being able to stretch the floor with my shooting. I’m very athletic and love to dunk and block shots as much as I can. These are two of my strengths along with my left hand hook shot in the post and mid-range shots. Overall, I just love to compete.
You have been at Penn State University. Was it an important
step in your career?
It absolutely was. I got to play in one of if not the toughest conference in college basketball. I also played against some great players that are also playing over in Europe or the NBA. Most importantly though, I learned a lot about the game from my coaches. They taught me a few things that I still carry with me today.
You’ve contested the Adriatic League this season. What did
you think about this competition?
It was good competition. There are a lot of tough players there and they always play hard every game.
